Why should I get a massage?

There are many reasons, but the biggest is probably stress.  Massage therapy is well known as a stress reliever.  It is a soothing, relaxing experience that calms the nervous system.  It can help you become more aware of how your body feels in a relaxed state, which may then help you to seek that state on a regular basis, either through a regular massage program or on your own with a variety of relaxation techniques.

How often should I get a massage?

It varies from person to person and may also vary depending on the treatment you choose. Some find that once a week is best, while most schedule once or twice a month.

You may feel that getting a massage is just a luxury item – something that you "deserve" only once in a blue moon.  You may be waiting for "just the right time" to get a massage – perhaps after a stressful time has passed.  But keep in mind that new stresses are inevitable, and reducing the stress you have now with massage therapy just may help you cope with whatever life will hand you next.
